At Homestead Funds, it’s easy to sell shares from your account. Choose the method that’s most convenient for you.
By phone: Call us at 1-800-258-3030. You can choose to receive a check for the proceeds mailed to your address or sent directly to your bank account via ACH transfer or Fed funds wire. To have proceeds sent directly to your bank account, you must have authorized telephone transaction privileges and bank information on file with us. If you wish to add these privileges, complete the Account Services Form (PDF). Homestead Funds does not charge a fee to send an ACH transfer. We charge a nominal fee to send a Fed funds wire. A Fed wire typically arrives in one business day, and an ACH transfer typically takes two to three business days.

If an IRA account, also indicate the percent to withhold for payment of income tax (10% will be withheld if no amount is specified). Distributions from IRA accounts are subject to income taxes and possibly a premature distribution penalty.
A check will be made payable to the account owners on record and sent to the address of record unless you specify otherwise.
If you want to redeem an amount equal to or greater than $50,000 OR wish to request the redemption check paid to someone other than the account owner(s) of record OR instruct us to send redemption proceeds to an address other than the address of record, we require a signature guarantee.
By check: Daily Income Fund shareholders, including IRA investors age 59 ½ or older, may write checks against their account to sell shares.
